This lake is near Lake O'Hara in Yoho National Park, British Columbia with the eastern face of Ringrose Mountain [3278m, 10,755 ft] in the background. Ringrose Mountain sits on the Continental Divide between B.C. and Alberta. Behind Ringrose Mountain on the Alberta side lies the Horseshoe Glacier and Sentinel Pass.
I have written hiking posts on
Sentinel Pass and
Goodsir Pass which is southwest of the lake in the photo.

I love clear water even though it can be tough to fish.
Sentinel Pass is a good western title name.
That reflection is surreal. It looks like a painting.
This picture is breathtaking. Thanks again for making my day with the beauty of mountains and lakes.
That's so gorgeous.
Travis, I don't think there are fish in this lake as it's quite close to an upper level along the Yukness Ledge Alpine Route. I'm not certain whether this is Lake Oesa or Victoria Lake, both which are located near Ringrose Mountain.
David, a person might be able to get a horse up the Sentinel Pass on the Larch Valley side, but I'm not so sure about the Paradise Valley side. It's tricky for humans to navigate a scree slope as there is inherent danger of a rock slide, followed by an avalanche should there be sufficient snow above. But, yes, Sentinel Pass is a good name for a western story.
Ronda, with the water being so still and the sun shining at just the right angle provided a perfect photo waiting to happen.
Teresa, that's why I chose this photo. It set the scene perfectly for a mountain getaway.
Leah, you should take a drive into Field with a stop off at Lake O'Hara. It's a beautiful place, and great for a variety of hikes in its immediate location.
Kia ora Barbara,
I can visualize myself standing there perfectly still just enjoying being in that moment my wanderlust temporarily satiated. have a lovely weekend.
Aroha,
Robb
It's beautiful. It's breathtaking.
What an absolutely gorgeous picture.
Absolutely gorgeous!
(and btw, thanks for visiting my blog! I've added you as well!)
Robb, when I'm looking for a photo to post I try to find one that will transcend the viewer into the scene.
Barrie, the trail to this location is breaktaking, and if the hiker is not daunted by the danger that lurks they can drink in the beauty of the magnificent surroundings.
Cloudia, nice to see you.
Jen, welcome, and come anytime to see a refreshing look at various parts of Canada.
