This is Mt. Michael and Lake O'Hara in Yoho National Park, British Columbia.
I will be absent from frequent posting or blog visiting for awhile as my writing will be taking precedence. There will still be the odd weekly post and, of course, book reviews, as there is a growing stack.

I wish you a productive time while you focus on your writing. Thank you for sharing what you can.
Writing trumps posting. And so it should.
If you're hiding out in a spot like this to do your reading and writing, I can understand why you're not coming out to play with the rest of us! Good luck on your writing!
We'll miss you while you're gone, Barbara. But I'm excited that you're spending more time with your writing and look forward to seeing the results in a bookstore some day. Maybe you'll autograph a copy for me!
If that is where you have gone - happy fishin' !
PS Work before pleasure :-)
OH!!!! Cannot wait to hear what you get up to!
Kia ora Barbara,
All the best wishes from New Zealand for a happy and productive break.
Aroha,
Robb
Yes, the blogosphere takes LOTS of time! Good for you (but please post/visit before too long ;-(
Aloha-
Comfort Spiral
That would be a place for a nap and a hope that the fish don't bite and wake you up.
Write, Barbara, write like the wind!! :)
The hiking and historical posts took a great deal of time out of my writing alotment due to fact checking.
Mt. Michael in the photo is thought by some to be named after Archangel Michael, providing the surrounding area and Lake O'Hara with a spiritual connection.
Steve, there will be posts, just infrequent ones as time dictates.
Leah, I have two follow-up books to the first that need completing and editing.
Teresa, while blogging and visting I was not getting my fiction or non-fiction writing done in the time frame I thought would be possible.
Rick, I'm looking at sooner than "some day".
RuneE, mountains and I have a connection that brings me peace of mind and soul.
Gary, I may have a special order for you before Christmas.
Robb, I'll be thinking of you in your special land of connection.
Cloudia, too much time of late.
Charles, not a perfect place to take a nap as the grizzly bears tend to congregate in the nearby meadows gorging themselves on buffalo berries before their hibernation. Any hiking would be curtailed from the higher levels at this time.
Steve, I intend to, and thanks for the encouragement.
Steve,
Will miss you, Barbara.
Blogging is very time consuming, and while it's OK to skip mowing the lawns occasionally :) writing must take precedence.
each time i'm in, or see pics of, the mountains i realize again how really insignificant i am...
writing comes first, so no worries there, barbara :)
Good luck with your writing!
You have some gorgeous scenery up in Canada.
All the best with your writing. :)
be well, Barbara, and write on !
Hey Barbara,
Next weekend I will be going to Niagara Falls to... well... look at outdoorsy things in an up-close-and-personal way.
I just wanted to let you know that because each time I look at the lovely pictures on your website I feel like visiting those places, only to be reminded that I am a terribly sedentary stay-at-home introvert umbilically connected to my computer. But now I am changed. For a weekend, anyway.
Best of luck with your writing and look forward to your return!
I can only imagine how much time your research must have taken for the hiking and historical posts. I'd like to thank you so much for the time and trouble you took/take.The results in all your posts were fascinating and enjoyable.I look forward to seeing an occasion "infrequent" post. How exciting about your writing taking precedence.Of course you must follow the muse!! Happy writing dear Barbara!
Really pretty! Sky, mountain, and lake--what more could anyone ask for?
Thanks for commenting on my skywatch bench!
Barbara, have a great time! Thanks for your comment.
Hope you have a fun time off.
Stunning landscape image. This Mt. Michael seems to be such a serene setting for fishing. Nice one Barbara.
Hope you had a good time. Did you catch anything?
Best of luck to you.. I hope you're writing up a storm. :)
Thanks for the cheery comments. Today I was working on one of the dreaded synopses.
I know I'm late to the party, but it suddenly occurred to me- Hey, I haven't seen Barbara around the blogosphere in a while! So I was catching up on your posts- great, intriguing review of The Gargoyle by the way- and saw that you're scaling back for the sake of your WIP or WsIP. A writer's blessing, then: May the words flow easily and with little need for revision. May the complete story be even better than you'd imagined.
