Tenancies

It has been one of those weeks for the last month, where as a member of a tenant association, the time I usually spend on more pertinent matters such as this blog, book reviews and writing, has been on issues related to general maintenance combined with preparation for a tribunal hearing.

If life were much simpler, as in the photo above, of an abandoned homestead in south-west Saskatchewan. Of course, from its state new housing is in order and imminent. Hopefully this will not be the case with the apartment complex I live in.

Ah, the wide open wild. I'd live there in a heartbeat.

Leah, I prefer a place with a few more trees for shade in the blistering summer sun and a wind break in the winter to ease those whipping blasts of driven snow.

The loneliness of the open spaces - very nice in the photo, but maybe not always when you live there?

Looks like that would be a great place to write!

Ah yes, sometimes one longs for the simpler life without the complications of modern dwellings! I like the contours of the land in the photo - undulating and restful.

RuneE, perhaps living in solitude is not so much the issue but whether one has the conveniences of life at hand. I suspect the area went through a dry period and the people moved to another location.

Charles, perfect for an afternoon or a few days.

Phoenix, this area of Saskatchewan is full of these hills. Its a wonderful place to be.

Lovely landscape, I wonder how far away the next neighbors lived.

I hope you are soon done with the tenant association work and can get back to do all those things you missed out on!
