This photo is of Black Creek with a nice blanket of snow taken February 8, 2013 with my phone.

What a winter we've had: mild temperatures, rain, periods of snow and now a storm that left 15cm (6 inches) of snow in my area and much more on the east coast. How is it in your area?

I heard the Eastern Coast "drowned" in snow during the week-end. At present our winter looks exactly like your photo :-)

What a peaceful, pleasant sight.

RuneE, despite the heaps of snow left at curbside by snowplows, I'm glad not to see the 100cm (40 inches) Conneticut got.

In the 1950s there were winters with heavy accumulation of snow. One family photo shows a bungalow with snow drifted up to the eaves and a narrow walkway shovelled out to daylight from the front door. We've had it mild for many years and perhaps Mother Nature has decided to change her water cycle.

Leah, it's lovely in the summer to have the sunbeams filter through the branches down to the grassy area near the creek. It's not very deep, though after heavy rains or snow melt the water rises above the banks.
