Blog Friends

Blogging provides a means to communicate with the internet world with words of wisdom, we hope, and perhaps even to entertain each other. A blog I frequent does those things: L. A. Mitchell who writes romances through time.

For the beginning of 2009, L.A. put on a movie fest of a collaboration of movies with the best kissing scenes. She did this over the first seven days with an added bonus of drawing a name from the comments to win one of her favourite movies: one with an element of time. To view the selections of the different movies go here.

Lucky me was drawn as the winner, and after waiting for the postman to deliver the said movie it has arrived. Many thanks to L. A. Mitchell for providing this wonderful prize, a DVD of the movie “Memento”. I’m looking forward to seeing this crime thriller about a man with a damaged memory chasing a murderer whose identity he cannot possibly know for sure.

Amazon.com has over 900 reviews raving about this movie, and Indigo-Chapters where I usually purchase my books and the odd-movie or CD has it temporarily unavailable to order while listing it at a slightly lower price than what is listed. If they were out of stock it would state this, so the movie is a good seller. From what I have read in the reviews the story is right up my alley: complicated with multiple layers.

Wil, I don't often see new movies as I'm on a rather tight budget. Any new electrical gadget always has new buttons and doodads to figure out. I'm sure you will be able to.

Gary, that's kind of you to think so.

Pam, I was very surprised it was a DVD I hadn't seen, and better yet, a crime thriller with a twist.

Cloudia, you're welcome.

"Memento" is an interesting movie which really caught me (it seems lately that such movies are less and less). Also it leaves much on the viewers choice and imagination at the end.
I am happy that you won it, Barbara :)
