Bench of the Week (15)

This bench is located on a trail to Wreck Beach where clothing is optional. Wreck Beach is located on part of the University of British Columbia's Endowment Lands west of Vancouver, B.C. This bench was carved by Michael Rose.

Bench of the week is an informal meme begun by RuneE of Visual Norway.

Definitely unique. . . not one I would want for my home but probably one of a kind.

Benches are always important to the tired hiker and mountain climber. This is a very beautiful one.
Thanks for your visit. I also believe that there are more world like ours.

I love that back part of the bench but I'm not sure what it is. Looks cool, though.

It is a very interesting carving. I don't think I would have ever thought to create a bench out of that piece. Very creative.

I put my third bench on another blog this week. (I have rules that I following on my other blog, and I didn't want to break my own rules. :-))

This is an extremely cool bench. I love the carving on the back. I am also intriqued by the clothing optional comment. Does that mean clothing is optional on the bench, on the trail, on the beach, or on the University of British Columbia's Endowment Lands???

PERBS, it's a bench I wouldn't mind having in a garden. The artwork in the carving is well done.

Wil, with the amount of steps from the beach to the roadway it is in a fitting place.

Charles, it was carved by local First Nations.

Rajesh, it was the artwork that assisted my decision to post it.

Steve, I wished I had gone for the larger size to download which provided a little more detail on the carving.

Teresa, the clothing option is for Wreck Beach which has long been a nude beach. There is consternation among those who use the beach about high rise development encroaching on their activities.

What a treat to sit there. Not sure I'd want to leave. It's so beautiful!

What an amazing bench! I think I would want to sit on another bench opposite so I could look at all the details of the carving!

I really like this bench. It would look GREAT in my gardens. ;-)

L.A., eventually you would become hungry or thirsty, or the skeeters would arrive as dusk approached.

Phoenix, the carving is amazing.

EG Tour Guide, we have similar thoughts to spirit away this bench.

Unbelievable - I wonder if it's comfortable? It would be a shame to sit on it, though, and not see it.
