Bench of the Week (9)

This different sort of bench, but well suited to its purpose, is located at Grose Morne Provincial Park in Newfoundland.

RuneE of Visual Norway began an informal meme for posting benches on Friday. He has another spectacular bench this week.
Phoenix of Sylvan Muse has her bench up in a lovely garden.
Gerald from Ackworth Born, Gone West has a perfect bench to catch the action.
PERBS has a cute bench today.
Pacey from Today's Blah... has a unique bench with a perfect seat.

I don't know how comfortable that bench is but it's one helluva scenic view.

Now that is a lovely rural-looking bench! It looks almost as if it could gallop away if you sit on it!!

David, any place to sit and take in the view is fine with me. This looks quite sturdy.

Phoenix, I admit it is rather rustic in appearance, but servicable.

Somehow this reminded me of Scotland - maybe sitting by Loch Ness and looking for the monster? The landscape is not unlike and the bench would fit in nicely.

It looks like a beautiful quiet place to sit and contemplate or read a book or just be near the water! I like unusual benches. Since I have been blogging about benches for two yeas now, some of my benches don't have "the views" that many of the rest have but are just as important to me. . . the one I have today is for sale at the Farmers market -- a beautiful piece of craftmanship -- especially if you click on it to see he grains in the wood.

I love the rustic bench and the incredible view. It looks as if the bench is inviting me to sit down and watch the clouds for a while.

Yeah, looks almost like a sawhorse. But the view!

Barbara, I love this bench. It reminds me of a bench my uncle made for my grandmother half way up the steep cliff trail from the beach to their summer cabin. My brother and I used to build forts behind it and "shoot pirate boats" out on the water. Thanks for triggering good memories.

A very practical bench - hope there are a few others near as with such a view it could easily get crowded.

RuneE, the hills in the distance are lower from this angle, though there are towering cliffs at Western Brook Pond that would make anyone dizzy.

PERBS, I have located a few benches with 'no' views per se and they will take their turn in time.

Your bench is particularly nice due to its smaller size to fit in any cozy corner.

Diane, the view of the area spoke to me too. Perfect place for a snack.

Charles, sawhorses can be sturdy if crafted to be. This bench reminds of older ones I used to see out west in Banff.

Teresa, I'm pleased this photo brought nostalgic memories for you.

Gerald, perhaps someone could be bribed to relinquish it.

Rajasthan, welcome and I hope you enjoyed your visit. Your own site provides wonderful exotic vistas.

I love your bench posts, Barbara. This one has such a lovely view; it would be a great place to stop.

That's a very simple bench yet so inviting, with the perfect weather, I could sit for a few hours there and maybe could even sleep. :) Come sit on my bench...

Cloudia, most benches have the same appeal for me, too.

Debra, a view over a lake with a green horizon is peaceful.

Pacey, welcome and thanks for joining in with your own amazing bench.

Oh, yes. I can see myself there. A thermos full of tea, some grapes, and Edward.

I could sit here all day, what an incredible view. Hope you are having a nice weekend.

Newfoundland is on my list of must-visit places.

Barbara Martin said...

Pamela, a great place for a dog...all those wild animals scents: like squirrels, chipmunks...

Margaret, a good place to sit in the sun with a broad brimmed hat.

Barrie, there is so much to see there. I went once, many years ago, for a dog show.
