  1. That air looks so clean and clear and the water looks like glass!

  2. Great catch! Looks like you had fun. Always sad when the outdoor activities have to wind down for the winter.

  3. I take it that Ontario lake is not the same as Lake Ontario.

This is a nice catch, both the fish and the photo.

  4. I didn't get much fishing in this summer, though I had hopes for it.

  5. I love the peacefulness of the scene and the clouds reflected in the lake. Not looking forward to cleaning fish, though.

  6. Simply gorgeous. Looks quite cold though.

  7. Willow, when there is no breeze the fish tend to bite the lures better.

    Lauren, there's always ice fishing.

Gallow, Lake Ontario always has some kind of wave size on it. The water at this lake would not be deep enough for an ocean going freighter.

  8. Leah, good size too.

    Charles, there's always next year.

Teresa, I always say the person who catches 'em, cleans 'em.

  9. Clare2e, the scene says it all.

Ronda, this is probably north of Toronto where the evenings tend to be quite cool and brisk in autumn.

  11. Hi Barbara,
So what was the biggest catch?
I've been going through all your recent posts, and they really gave me the need to discover your region with my own eyes!!

  12. And a bench too! (Or is it a portable fishing chair?)

  13. Cloudia, in a matter of weeks the top of the lake will have a thin sheet of ice on top.

Chris, there are many, many places in Canada just made for the camera.

Phoenix, it's one of those heavy wood lake chairs that's comfortable to sit in, especially with a small pillow.

  14. Patti, I don't see it that way at all. It's a time of getting ready to hibernate before the season festivities in December, followed by an anticipation of spring. At least in southwestern Ontario the winters are not that long. Elsewhere it tends to be four months of poor sledding.

  15. How timely. We just went up to the cottage for one last overnight to collect the rods and gear for the winter. I'm going to miss it until spring. :)

  17. Hilary, sometimes going to the cottage in winter is a nice getaway for a long weekend, espeically if there is a fireplace.

    Om, welcome. Thank you.
