Bench of the Week (25)

This bench is located on the observation deck atop Sulphur Mountain near the Gondola lift terminal in Banff National Park in Alberta. The view is facing north-west.

RuneE of Visual Norway has an informal meme on Bench of the Week, where you can find other participants.

Lovely photo! Thanks for visiting!

Cloudia, it certainly seems that way.

Teresa, the air would be quite bracing at this time of year, and a big change from your hot spell.

Willow, a view I never get tired of.

Sulphur mountain sounds menacing :-)
But The combination of the bench and the snow and the distance make it seem safe.

I can feel the coolness of the snow, and the warmth of the sun. It's very refreshing. Great photo.

An invigorating place to rest.

A lovely spot! I'd sit there drinking hot chocolate and exulting in the view!

My bench is up on my new Autumn header, and hopefully I'll have time later today to write about it too!!

Like ever, the view offered by your bench is simply great!
It seems everyone begins to have snow those times, I also posted snow on my main blog and found several snow pictures this morning.
The simplicity of your bench makes a beautyful contrast with the richness of the landscape. Great shot!

Dimple, glad you dropped by.

RuneE, Sulphur Mountain is named for the several hot springs that trickle forth from its interior.

Gallow, one of my mountain favourites.

Barbara Martin said...

Leah, it certainly affords a great view.

Phoenix, and there's the nice relaxing dip in the upper springs pool afterwards.

Malyss, October in the Rockies tends to bring a dusting of snow.

Lana would not like that snow.

Ahhh, I missed your blog and your benches photos so much! This one in particular is a beauty. It is partyl in the snow and partly in the wooden surface. It almost straddles two worlds. Beautiful.

Greetings from London.

Barbara Martin said...

Tom, the view is rather spectacular.

PERBS, a grand idea providing you've brought along mitts.

Cuban, alternate worlds are all around us.

My bench post is up at last!!

(I could do with a nice relaxing dip in the upper springs pool now, and a glass of Pernod!)

Beautiful view!

I haven't been posting benches for a while because I very stoooopidly deleted tons of photos a couple of weeks ago. I'm now searching for more benches.

This is my favorite recent photo, Barbara. Just takes my breath away. What I wouldn't give for a hot drink and a few hours on that bench!

Hope you are well :)
