Sounds of the Universe

This amazing photo is of the Milky Way Galaxy, taken by NASA which I obtained through the Wikimedia Commons. Seeing these clusters of stars set in their spiral shapes gives one pause to ponder: what if....

I came upon the following video and while listening to it my lovebirds perked up, responding to the sounds. Admittedly I do not possess the technical knowledge of astronomers, there is much to be learned from those sounds. I do not believe that our planet with all its life forms is the only one in the unnumbered vast galaxies out there. It is inevitable that those intergalactic travelers are out there, and in time will make their way here. Or will they come from another reality or dimension? Thus comes the theories and ideas of various creators: scientists, writers: those who write fiction and those who write screenplays for movies.

Barbara, that is rather cool!

Very cool. My bet is they've picked up a Saturn sit com, something along the lines of 2 and a half rings, or, how I met your father Jupiter.

Beautiful. Some parts reminded me of the space whale messages to earth in Star Trek IV. Toward the end it sounded like a didgeridoo.

the image you're using of the Milky Way Galaxy is an artist's conception, not a photo. To obtain such a photo, NASA would have had to have a probe of some kind that had traveled beyond the Galaxy and transmitted back the image, which would take a bit longer to transmit than the internet has been around....

It is a great image though - I find spiral galaxies absolutely awe-inspiring.

Phoenix, the sound got them communicating back.

Reb, there are infinite possibilities out there to communicate with other beings.

Charles, aptly put.

Leah, the sounds seemed hauntingly familiar to me.

Cloudia, a collection of life forms.

Crochety Old Fan, there are multiple spiral galaxies out there, in varying shapes, that have been photographed by the Hubbell telescope which are sometimes referred to as being like our "Milky Way". Who is to say exactly what it would look like.

WoW!! Very interesting!! =) Some of it, I even got goosebumps here I'm sitting! I had to listen to it twice!! Strange and like a miracle.. And that lovely music "translated" into our ears..

Are we alone? No I don't think so.. For me it's hard to think and believe we are alone.. It's easier to think or believe we are not alone..

Thanks so much for sharing! :)
