I love this bench and I'm so pleased to be the first to comment on it. I wonder what it's like to sit on? Does anyone ever dare to try it? I'd be scared of damaging it. It's wonderful. Far far more wonderful than 99.9% of modern 'art'.
I love the use of drift wood in this bench! Where is it on Vancouver Island? What's the nearest town? I'll take the ferry to Vancouver Island and go sit on it next time I visit my dad.
Phoenix, if you have driftwood in your area then you should give it a try and let us know how you did.
Tony, what bench is comfy without pillows?
Teresa, on flickr, Winston & Michelle stated the photo was taken in Bamfield, B.C. on Vancouver Island. Where in Bamfield specifically? Anyone's guess.

ReplyDeleteThat bench must qualify as one of the most original benches ever seen! I wonder how it is to sit in. Thank you for sharing (and comments)!

Clair, the bench had a similar affect upon me.
ReplyDeleteHilly, I imagine it would feel like any bench with a slat seat.
Charles, my sentiments exactly.
Leigh, in western Canada there are many garden centres that sell 'driftwood' benches, so I would expect them to be quite safe to sit on.
ReplyDeleteRuneE, the photo caught my eye and I thought how perfect for the post.
Mihai, the builder is an artist.
