Why why why do movies spend gobs of money and time recreating appropriate clothes and scenery, yet always choose anachronistic music? That would be the simplest and cheapest part to get right. I would enjoy historically set movies much more if my suspension of belief weren't always interrupted by inappropriate music.
Willow, you know what they say: first love at 12 never leaves.
Charles, for the age old story of Cinderella this movie carries it exceptionally well. It was filmed in Europe.
Shauna, I hope Willow makes this cyber ball an annual event.
I agree with you on the music. Every royal family would have a small orchestra or someone playing musical instruments at a dance.
Tony, better for you to be a dandy, then you could have been around those ladies and sumptuous food. As a highwayman, if you were caught the punishment in those times would be frightful.
There is a startling amount of pink here. I'm laughing at the men's comments; and, yet, they watched it b/c they want to impress the ladies with their Richard Chamberlain moves.
l.a.mitchell was right. It's the first thing I noticed.I thought does the invitation specify (tongue in cheek) these tones of clothing only will be acceptable to their majesties...no bright red gowns (maroon may be worn by gentlemen), definitely no orange at his majesties request.Richard did well with the dancing bless him, but would have struggled with the next level ie "dancing with the stars" criteria.Having said that, there was no way I would miss Willow's cyber ball.Did you see me in the hand-beaded gown? Saw you there!

Oh, how absolutely marvelous! This is beautiful! And I see that Richard Chamberlain hasn't taken his eyes off you the entire evening!! ;^)
ReplyDeleteDon't think I've seen this one.
ReplyDeleteA virtual ball—how fun!

suppose i'd'a dressed like a dandy in those days... nah, much more like a highwayman, methinks ;) lol

ReplyDeleteL.A., I never noticed until you mentioned it.
ReplyDeleteWhat I did notice were the improprieties Richard Chamberlain took with the princess: kissing her hand, and taking her outside without a chaparone.
Men are somewhat like birds of prey: if something catches their attention, nothing else matters.

ReplyDeleteVery good! Thank you . First or second degree... I do not care, I love! I laugh with joy, it's good.
ReplyDeleteSee you soon.
Pam, the cyber-ball was perfect. Hopefully Willow will host it again next year.
ReplyDeleteMarie, glad you liked the post. We all need a bit of fun now and then.
